An experimentation in printmaking, exploring the relationship between traditional and digital production methods.

I created 20, 16’ x 20’ pieces, in one 4 hour session, using digitally created and printed assets on acetate, in a traditional darkroom environment.

Spending less than 10 minutes on each piece, my aim was to remove the temptation to ‘overthink’ the final outcome, and focus on the process.

As the 4 hours progressed, the growing imperfections of the acetate due to the environment further highlighted the traditional photographic process, in contrast to the perfection digital design aims to achieve.
